At some stage, we’ve all wondered if we’re being paid fairly. Even if you do find an answer through asking friends or online research, there are many variables that need to be considered. Well, thanks to LinkedIn Salary, now you can find out exactly what your salary expectations should be.

Discover Your Earning Potential

LinkedIn has released its latest tool, LinkedIn Salary, which lets job seekers see the average salaries of professionals based on user data from 460+ million members. You are now able to gauge how much you should be earning based on your industry, company size, location, experience, education, and location. The feature was officially launched on 2 November and aims to provide users with valueable knowledge to navigate their careers. Similarly, those looking to hire can gain insight into what employees should be earning.

Although there are other options such as Payscale and Glassdoor, LinkedIn has the advantage of being a well-established professional platform that (1) has a large user base that already hosts users’ professional experience, and (2) is used for sourcing and recruiting. Not only will you be able to gauge your earning potential, but you will also be able to see suggested steps you can take, skills you can build or changes you should consider to earn more or boost your long-term potential.

LinkedIn Salary is accessible from its landing page (www.linkedin.com/salary), however, only Premium users can see job listings and salary data. LinkedIn Salary is currently available to all desktop and mobile users in the U.S., Canada and U.K, with the company eyeing a global rollout for 2017.

With Facebook also integrating job opening features, the professional social network space is full of innovation that job seekers and employers alike can benefit from. It will be interesting to see how things unfold. Perhaps Twitter will be the next to offer job offering features.
